Alison DiLaurentis knows danger. But when she arrives in Beacon Heights expecting to start over after everything that happened in Rosewood, she might find that she’s come to the wrong place for a do-over.
Freeform has released the opening minute of its upcoming Pretty Little Liars spin-off, Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists, which follows Alison (Sasha Pieterse) to a new teaching job at Beacon Heights University. But when Alison is confronted with characters both old and new — hey, Mona (Janel Parrish) — things take a turn.
In the opening minute of the series, we meet our three perfectionists, as played by Sofia Carson, Sydney Park, and Eli Brown, and get our official introduction to Beacon Heights University. As Carson’s voiceover says, “Welcome to Beacon Heights University, where excellence is not an option. It’s a requirement. Ranked as one of the most challenging programs in the U.S., students here are the best and the brightest. If you thought getting in was hard, keeping up is even harder. At BHU, we’ll do whatever it takes to stay on top. We thrive under pressure and strive for perfection. But no one’s perfect. And the pressure is building to a breaking point. And someone is about to snap. And kill.”

It should come as no surprise to PLL fans that the spin-off’s opening ends with a body bag and a crime scene. Because what’s a PLL series without a little murder?
Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists premieres Wednesday, March 20, on Freeform. Watch opening scene at the top of this post.
