The Twilight Zone

HOW/WHEN & WHERE TO WATCH: Streaming on CBS All Access

Series Debut
It’s almost like an episode of The Twilight Zone itself: Every few decades, Hollywood execs summon their strongest forces to revive a beloved property from the beyond. This time, they tell themselves, we’ll get it right — unlike all those unfortunate saps who tried before. But none of them realize that the one ingredient they desperately need — original creator and visionary Rod Serling — is lost to them forever. Jordan Peele’s reboot takes promising stories (a time-rewinding camcorder, a comedian whose jokes have a sinister power, a clever update on “Nightmare at 20,000 Feet”) and weighs them down with overlong episodes and heavy-handed metaphors. Submitted for your approval: Just leave the Zone alone. B- —Kristen Baldwin

Season Premiere
Seven years after the last new episode (she’s been a little busy with a talk show!), Rachael Ray — and her catchphrases (“EVOO,” “Delish”) — returns for 30 days of 30-minute meals (here’s hoping for a “sammie” or two). First up on the season premiere: Roasted Chicken Patty Parm and Salami Salad. Yum-o! (Ooh, another one!)
