Janet Jackson is taking her act from Dream Street to the Las Vegas strip.
The 52-year-old pop icon announced Tuesday she will headline a new residency show titled Metamorphosis — launching the first of its 15 dates in May — at the MGM resort’s Park Theater.
Jackson wrote on Instagram the concert series marks a “celebration of my journey” in the music industry, and will include a special performative tribute to her 1989 album Janet Jackson’s Rhythm Nation 1814 — which turns 30 years old on Sept. 19. A press release indicates the set includes “thought-provoking” elements alongside “electrifying visuals, explosive dance numbers” and “fan-favorite deep cuts” from the entertainer’s career.
Prior to Metamorphosis‘ announcement, Jackson (the youngest member of the Jackson family, which also includes the late Michael Jackson and recent Masked Singer competitor LaToya Jackson) released her first single in three years, “Made For Now,” last August. She accepted the Billboard Icon Award earlier that summer for her contributions to the music industry across multiple decades. On March 29, Jackson will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame alongside Stevie Nicks and Radiohead.
Pre-sale Metamorphosis tickets begins Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. ET for Citi cardholders, ahead of general on-sale Saturday at 1:00 p.m. ET. MGM resorts’ M life rewards members, Live Nation customers, and Ticketmaster users will also have pre-sale access beginning Friday.
