Rebecca Bunch (Rachel Bloom) is finally going to find her place on the stage — under the gleeful eye of Cheri Oteri.
The Saturday Night Live veteran will guest-star on the March 15 episode of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend as a local community theater director named Connie. As seen in the exclusive clip above, she’s an over-the-top drama queen who makes grand pronouncements like “Welcome, everyone, to this gorgeous temple we call the theater.”
After paying tribute to fictional composer and musical theater genius Elliot Ellison, Connie informs Rebecca and the other auditioners that they will all be required to sing “Let Me Be in Your Show,” from the show Let Me Be in Your Show (of course). We see Valencia (Gabrielle Ruiz), Tim (Michael McMillian), and Rebecca audition to varying degrees of success (and pitch).
The episode, titled “I’m Finding My Bliss,” follows Rebecca as she tries to embrace her passion for musical theater, while Paula (Donna Lynne Champlin) is courted by various law firms.
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is nearing the end of its four-season run, with a two-part finale slated for April 5. The series finale will be followed by a live concert special featuring performances of some of the show’s most beloved original songs.
