HOW/WHEN & WHERE TO WATCH: 8 p.m. on Fox
Say what you will about those costumes (a Unicorn ice queen, really?), but The Masked Singer has emerged as the first bona fide unscripted hit since the launch of The Voice in 2011. No wonder Fox has already ordered a second year of the competition that until last week seemed to be the Lion’s to lose. She had a lot of diehard fans, but alas, Rumer Willis couldn’t make it to the finale. Though the Bee (we see you, Gladys Knight) also has a lot of buzzing fans in her hive. “All of them became real after living with them for so many weeks,” marvels executive producer Craig Plestis. “It’s not just someone singing by themselves in a fuzzy outfit.” —Lynette Rice

HOW/WHEN & WHERE TO WATCH: 10 p.m. on ABC
“Mission: Impossible smashes into Cheers, with Scott Foley as Diane and Lauren Cohan as Sam.” That’s how creator David Hemingson describes the spy drama Whiskey Cavalier. FBI agent Will Chase (Scandal’s Foley) — a “woke James Bond” codenamed Whiskey Cavalier — crosses paths with CIA agent Frankie Trowbridge (Walking Dead vet Cohan), and love/hate sparks fly. Shot on location in Prague, Whiskey blends sharp wit, crackling romance, life-and-death stakes, and presumably booze(?). “Espionage has entered the headlines now for a reason,” reflects Hemingson. “It’s a great balancing act — intrigue, romance, topicality, fun, adventure, and love; that’s what we’re trying to embrace in the show.” —Maureen Lee Lenker
In the Feb. 15/22 issue of Entertainment Weekly, EW TV critic Darren Franich, in his 29-word review, gave the show a D+. “Scott Foley is an FBI niceguy. Lauren Cohan is a CIA badass. They hate each other, and you will too. They learn to like each other. You might not.”
